SUMMARY:Friends of Ottawa 25th Annual Photo Contest
DESCRIPTION:Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge invites all photographers to enter the 25th Annual Nature Photography Contest!\n\n\n\nAll photos must be captured on the Ottawa National Refuge Complex. Photos taken elsewhere will not be eligible.\n\n\n\nEntries are accepted from July 10th until September 6th. Participants may submit up to eleven entries\, with a maximum of 1 entry per category.\n\n\n\nCategories: \n\nEagles\, Birds (Other than Eagles)\, Mammals\, Reptiles & Amphibians\, Insects & Arachnids\, Native Plants\, Landscapes & Reflections\, Sunrises & Sunsets\, Refuge in Winter\, Funny Nature\, and People Enjoying Nature.\n\n\n\nAge Groups: Adult (18+)\, Teen (13-17 years old) and Youth (5-12 years old)\n\n \n\nJudging: A panel of judges will review the photos for content\, clarity\, composition and overall impression. 1st\, 2nd\, 3rd place\, and Honorable Mentions will be chosen for each category. The judges will also award a Best of Show. Once judging is completed\, you will have the opportunity to vote for People's Choice!\n\n\n\nAwards: Prizes will be awarded! The 1st place photograph for each category in the Adult Age Group\, highlights from the Child & Youth Age Groups\, Best of Show and People's Choice photographs will be featured in our 2025 Calendar (1st place/People's Choice/Best of Show receive a free calendar). Additionally\, 1st place winners\, People's Choice & Best of Show will receive free access to the upcoming Refuge Photography Class Series. 1st\, 2nd\, 3rd\, and Honorable Mention photos as well as People's Choice and Best of Show will be displayed on our website. All contest winners will also be invited to participate in a special twilight tour photo opportunity on the refuge\, and the Best of Show will receive a private tour for up to 9 friends!
